SFR is one of the biggest telecoms operators in France.
It was created by the Compagnie Générale des Eaux in 1987. It was wholly owned by Vivendi in 2011 and purchased by Altice in 2014, forming the Numéricable-SFR Group.
SFR is active on every landline and mobile network, as well as providing ADSL, cable, fibre-optic and 2G, 3G and 4G services.
By the end of 2017, SFR had more than 15 million mobile phone clients, 6 million households with an SFR landline and 2.2 million households with an ultra-high-speed internet connection.
